Abstract
Tocopherol was separated from the alkali bottom sediments in alkali refining of Korean rice bran oil by an anion exchange resin.
The results were as follows.
1. The amounts of tocopherol in the alkali bottom sediments were approximately 0.1 to 0.3 milligrams per grams.
2. Tocopherol was concentrated about 5 times when the methyl esters of alkali bottom sediments were passed through an anion exchange resin.
3. Tocopherol was concentrated about 20 times (5.11mg/g) when the methyl serers of dark oil, which was manufactured from the alkali bottom sediments, were passed through an anion exchange resin.
